Asian Moon Restaurant in Massapequa Park offers a full-service dining experience that blends a variety of Asian flavors, with a clear emphasis on Chinese and sushi dishes. Set within a strip of local businesses, the space manages to feel both calming and a touch upscale, thanks to its culturally thoughtful decor. The atmosphere makes it a solid choice for those looking to enjoy a relaxed but polished meal, whether for lunch or dinner.

The menu covers a range of options from classic Chinese comfort dishes to fresh, quality sushi. The Spicy Tuna Tartare and Steamed Shrimp Shuimai stand out as appetizer highlights, while mains like Basil Beef, Chicken Shrimp Basil, and the House Special Fried Rice reflect a balance of familiar flavors with a bit of a fiery kick, such as in their Fire Wok Spicy selections. The sushi offerings are notably comprehensive, with consistent praise for freshness and craftsmanship — it’s clear that the sushi chefs, especially “Sam,” take pride in their work. The dessert choice like Flan adds a gentle finish to the meal.

This spot is particularly well-suited for locals who appreciate a dependable quality in their Asian fare without the rushed feel of busier takeout joints. The friendly and attentive service adds to the experience, making regular visits comfortable, whether for a weekday lunch escape or a casual weekend dinner. While some have noticed occasional dryness in meat dishes, the overall flavors and presentation keep the experience enjoyable.

For those visiting, afternoons and early evenings work well to enjoy a leisurely sit-down meal in a lounge-like environment where you can both unwind and engage with the food thoughtfully. It also doubles as a neighborhood bar spot for those who might want a well-made drink paired with lighter bites like sushi or dim sum. The community vibe is enhanced by staff who remember returning patrons, making it a place where you might be greeted by name and service with a familiar warmth.

In short, Asian Moon is a practical choice for anyone craving an array of Asian cuisine—from sushi connoisseurs to fans of spicy wok-cooked dishes—in a setting that balances casual comfort with a sense of occasion in the heart of Massapequa Park.

Tucked inside this strip of businesses is the upscale Asian Moon restaurant in Massapequa. The decor is calming and feels culturally authentic and celebratory. When you walk in, you feel immediately something good is going on in here. And indeed it is a delicious meal being prepared for you! The menu offers a delightful selection of Asian cuisine as well as a comprehensive sushi menu. We ordered the American Dream Sushi Roll. A shrimp Tempura Roll with Kani Salad on Top, Served with Mango Puree, and it was packed with flavor. The tempura gave it just the right amount of crunch. The stir-fried jasmine rice with broccoli was fragrant and fluffy. And the General Tso's Chicken had chunks of crispy white meat chicken in a tasty spicy sauce. We all enjoyed a wonderful evening and meal sitting in big comfy booth!
